"Last Boss / Third Form"[Japanese title] is a theme from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror that plays during the final phase of Dark Mind's battle.

Composition

Ending yet another game with a shoot 'em up section.

"Last Boss / Third Form" follows in the tracks of the previous two boss themes. Its key is quite unstable, featuring G and B-flat minor harmonies, thus combining the keys of "Boss Battle Theme" (specifically its prevalent dominant) and "Last Boss / Second Form". The opening riff is similar to the former's intro with the latter's harmonies. A descending passage akin to the second section of "Boss Battle Theme" plays, and is then followed by the opening riff again. It builds up from different pitches. A passage reminiscent of the ending of "Boss Battle Theme" develops in an improvisational manner. A final chromatic progression from C to D plays back and forth before the track loops.
