"On a Fun Drive with You" is a Race theme from Kirby's Dream Buffet unlocked at the start of the game. It was composed by Shogo Sakai.[1]
Composition[edit]
"On a Fun Drive with You" is a lively theme in G major and 4/4. Immediately, the music starts with an exciting brass buildup that explodes into a quieter melody with a jazzy feel, initially headed by an organ. The melody periodically shifts from G major to an E minor harmony before swapping back, adding sweetness and diversity to the music. Within the melody's second repetition, a brass ornament can be heard, specifically a mordent that is very characteristic of Shogo Sakai's style. Quickly, the main melody is overtaken by a violin, while the piano in the background provides more of a supporting role. The theme's beginning then plays again (now without the buildup), this time with the brass mordent occurring earlier. The violin segment shines once again, with a slight alteration on the mordent from before, and a new addition in the form of a rattling tambourine. Suddenly, the theme switches key to C major during a short interlude, and a violin-focused second section with more piano backing takes place. Halfway through said section, brass accompaniment joins, and the music slowly switches back to its initial G major key through dominant. A saxophone then becomes the focal point of the track, playing a suave and smooth melody, backed by the previous section's accompanying instruments. Suddenly, a wind-like sound effect plays, and the track becomes quiet, only for the brass buildup from the beginning to make its return. The track then loops.

Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]
This theme is one of four music tracks that is randomly selected for races and Free Rolling at the start of Kirby's Dream Buffet. It can also be heard in the staff credits theme, which is a medley that also contains "I'm a Hungry Pink Puffball!" and "Gourmet Race". Shogo Sakai was responsible for its arrangement.
