Kirby's Decisive Battle! Battle Royale!! V10 Illustration 10.png Supporting characters In this volume, the Waddle Dees are created as a test run for the printer, from the recorded data of Waddle Dee which Tron captured in his camera. When Kirby encounters the Soldier Waddle Dee, he is shocked by its similar appearance to Waddle Dee. Waddle Dee tells him that his copies just appeared recently, and that he doesn't know from where they came. At first Kirby thinks that the other Waddle Dees will be friendly, but it quickly gets disproven by Soldier Waddle Dee's aggressiveness. Whispy Woods tells Kirby that the Waddle Dees planted him in the arena because they wanted apples. The Waddle Dees are put in control of the Kirby Printer, continuing to create more Kirby copies under King Dedede's and Tron's command. Since the final battle between Kirby and Dedede is on the top floor and cannot be seen, a team of four Waddle Dees called the Channel PPP Crew gets a permission to commentate it to the audience. Because Tron has made a mistake handling the printer and didn't process Waddle Dee's data, even after the printer is destroyed and all the Kirby copies disappear, the Waddle Dees cannot be erased. Cron suggests trying and finding a way to erase them, but Dedede objects, seeing the Waddle Dees as helpful. He offers the Waddle Dees free food in exchange for their work, and they agree. After the victory ceremony, Dedede orders the Waddle Dees to demolish the Battle Castle. At the end of the story, King Dedede is satisfied with his new subordinates.
Kirby Star Allies: The Great Friend Adventure! V11 Illustration 9.png Supporting characters In this volume, the Waddle Dees serve King Dedede by carrying food platters to him. Dedede tells them that instead serving him food, they need to make something cool. The Waddle Dees notice the Jamba Heart crushing to Castle Dedede. Being corrupted by the dark heart, Dedede barks at the Waddle Dees to get him all the food in Dream Land, and they rush off to do his bidding. Kirby notices that a line of Waddle Dees wind up to Mt. Dedede with platters of food. He thinks that Dedede is holding a party, so he decides to follow them. The Waddle Dees return to Castle Dedede with the food, but Dedede demands that they bring more. After Dedede returns to normal and feels sick from eating all the rotten food, the Waddle Dees come and bring him medicine. The Waddle Dees give Bandana Waddle Dee a parasol that he can use in battle. They encourage him and call him the representative of all the Waddle Dees, until Dedede complains about the noise. By the end of the story, the Waddle Dees continue to serve King Dedede food.
Kirby Star Allies: The Universe is in Trouble?! V12 Waddle Dees Illustration.png Supporting characters In this volume, the Waddle Dees tell King Dedede about a call from the Battleship Halberd. They convince him to answer the call and one of them carries the communication screen. After Dedede refuses to contact Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee gives his bandana to another Waddle Dee to switch places. The Waddle Dee happily agrees to help, since he wants to wear his bandana. When the Waddle Dees ask the fake Bandana Waddle Dee for help with their troubles, he panickes and confuses his tasks. His behavior is noticed by the Waddle Dees, who start gossiping about him. Dedede also notices this behavior, so he tests him by asking for a lot of snacks. The fake rushes to bring him the snacks, which is not according to Bandana Waddle Dee's behavior, since he berates Dedede for eating too many snacks. Dedede picks up the Waddle Dee as he tries to escape and tells him that he will throw him out if he doesn't tell the truth. The fake confesses and apologizes. He tells King Dedede that Waddle Dee probably had a good reason to leave, but it doesn't calm Dedede. The rage of Dedede makes Waddle Dees fall. At the end of the story, King Dedede hosts a party in Castle Dedede, and the Waddle Dees help to prepare the venue.
Kirby: Big Trouble in Patch Land! V13 Waddle Dees illustration.png Tertiary characters In this volume, the Waddle Dees are captured by Yin-Yarn and replaced with imposter Yarn Waddle Dees knitted by the villain; the fake Waddle Dees end up capturing both Bandana Waddle Dee and King Dedede as well. They are later saved by King Dedede, once he and the other protagonists go back to Dream Land to save it from Yin-Yarn. After he is finally beaten, the Waddle Dees help repair Castle Dedede, and with the party thrown to celebrate Kirby's victory. As this volume is an adaptation of Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, Waddle Dees' role is largely the same as the one in the game.
Kirby: Save the Rainbow Islands! (unillustrated) Tertiary characters In this volume, the Waddle Dees cross path with Kirby while escorting King Dedede to a vacation and carrying his stuff. They chase Dedede to the Rainbow Islands after he and Kirby run off. They help Dedede search for the culprit at the south of the Rainbow Islands. When King Dedede returns from the cloud, the Waddle Dees come to greet him and celebrate his accomplishments.

Plot Synopsis

Chapter 1: Kirby, the Loopy Picnic Crasher

King Dedede sets up a picnic to see the cherry blossom. He asks Poppy Bros. Jr. if he accidentally invited Kirby, since the picnic of last year was destroyed by him. Meanwhile, Kirby wakes up and sees the picnic from the tree he slept on. He starts consuming all the food, scaring and angering Dedede. Dedede screams to banish Kirby, making Kirby plead that they let him stay. Dedede agrees on the condition that he will weigh down the picnic blanket. Kirby refuses, so Dedede starts tossing stuff at him, one of them is loopy juice, which hits Kirby straight in the mouth. Kirby drinks the juice and becomes loopy, causing him to think that Squishy and Chirby are food. He inhales them, and the picnic goers run away. Kirby demands that King Dedede sit and begins lecturing him. Dedede tries to escape, but Kirby drags him back, beginning the lecture again. Kirby hears Paint Roller's karaoke and steals the microphone, singing horribly. When he sees that he got a score of zero on the karaoke machine, he angrily flips a table. Poppy Bros. Jr. asks Dedede to do a trick that will calm Kirby down. He at first refuses, but when Kirby begins to lecture him again, he changes his mind. He transforms himself into a sea bream fish dish, which makes everyone laugh, much to his dismay. Kirby says that it is the time for his acts and inhales more picnic goers, getting ten Copy Abilities and attacks Dedede with them. When he finishes his act he sees that nobody is watching and starts to cry. King Dedede gives him a candy, forgetting that it will give him invincibility. In his candy fueled rush, Kirby destroys the cherry blossoms, making Dedede angry. Kirby falls asleep, letting Chirby and Squishy escape his mouth. Everyone pours stuff into Kirby's mouth to wake him up, and he wakes, not loopy anymore. Seeing King Dedede being sad about the ruined cherry blossoms, Kirby copies a tree from another town, saving the picnic and cheering Dedede.
