"Cushy Cloud"[conjectural title] is a theme from Kirby: Squeak Squad that plays in Cushy Cloud - Stage 4, Ice Island - Stage 1 and Secret Sea - Stage 2.

Composition[edit]

Treasure amidst the clouds.

"Cushy Cloud" is a whimsical theme in C major and 6/8. Both this key and meter are unstable, a trait that would later carry on to "Echo's Edge". The melody consists of two main elements. The first has a syncopation within the first three beats in a rising sequence of perfect consonances, followed by evenly distributed falling notes. The second phrase establishes the meter more clearly but sees divergence in the key, where the melody briefly shifts to minor. The rhythmical pattern is close to that of "Rainbow Resort". At first played by a springier instrument, the melody is played again an octave lower with a more distinct legato. Its conclusion differs slightly, suggesting a modulation through F major. Said modulation occurs, starting off the second section in G-flat major. It features a descending motif similar to the fourth section of "Prism Plains". First played by a clarinet, it is repeated by strings an octave higher. It circles to dominant and augmented harmonies leading back to C major for the track to loop.
