Move to singular[edit]

With the creation of the disambig Sparkling Star (which I don't agree with), I realized that that disambig would make more sense if it was the plural. Then I wondered why this page is in plural and not in singular in the first place. Every other item, collectible, etc of the series exists in the wiki in singular, such as Crystal Shard, Rainbow Drop, Figurine, Energy Sphere, Picture Piece, etc. Only Notes is plural as far as I can find and due to its name (there is no one "Note", just "Notes"). Since ultimately Kirby collects one Sparkling Star at a time, I don't see why this page should be an exception and be in plural, unless I'm missing something. - Gigi (talkedits) 20:15, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

I think it's named this way because you collect a bunch of stars at one time. If you look closely, you can see a smaller star orbiting the main/larger one. Plus, there are citations on the main page that say that they are referred to as "Sparkling Stars". (Unless if they are talking about the five bunches in total and not one singular bunch.) --Paistrie (talk) 20:26, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
But look at the description of the image used in the infoxbox: "A Sparkling Star". It's singular. Kirby collects 5 Sparkling Stars in Dream Land. The text quoted only refers to them in plural because it's talking about multiple (like in flavor text of Energy Spheres). I am going to double check some sources though. - Gigi (talkedits) 20:33, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
So it does appear that the manual lists them in plural, but then also says "one of the Sparkling Stars". So, unsure. - Gigi (talkedits) 20:40, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
Kinda torn on this one. If the word was never actually used in singular, then it makes more sense to keep it plural here and use singular within the article, if at all. I don't know if there's a precedent for this though, not familiar enough with terminology for most collectibles. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 11:14, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
Between consistency and the manual saying "one of the" on page 15, I support moving to be singular. ---PinkYoshiFan 02:55, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
Update: Dream Collection description of this game has "Sparkling Star" in singular: [1]. - Gigi (talkedits) 01:44, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
Ok, since there seems to be evidence that one Sparkling Star is singular and not just a bunch of stars, I suppose that it could be moved to a singular name. (I also realize that this is a late reply. Apologies!)--Paistrie (talk)
Since it appears in singular, I think this page should be good to move. ---PinkYoshiFan 01:06, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
I second this. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 11:24, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
I also support a move to singular based on this. StarPunch (talk) 12:14, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
Since we are in agreement, move to singular is coming shortly. - Gigi (talkedits) 18:49, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
