Music[edit]

Most of the music of the game was composed by Tomoya Tomita before the game was repurposed for the Kirby series. This includes the music for "six of the seven worlds", and the last world, Dream Land, had its music composed by Jun Ishikawa, Hirokazu Ando, and Tadashi Ikegami.[cite?] Not all details regarding specific arrangement credits or the division in the development timeline are certain. Two new composers, [], joined for Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, and thus it can be assumed that the new tracks of the remake were composed by them.

Most Kirby themes were adapted to the style of Kirby's Epic Yarn: they are generally slower and feature acoustic instrumentation. However, "Tankbot", "Yin-Yarn" and "Mega Yin-Yarn" are exempt from this, as the former is reused from an older title altogether, while the latter two were purposefully composed to subvert the player's expectations.[cite?]

Kirby series music in Kirby's (Extra) Epic Yarn
Title Sample Notes
"Bubbly Clouds" Slow 4/4 arrangement of "Bubbly Clouds". Heard during most cutscenes associated with Dream Land, as well as in Cloud Palace.
"Kirby Dance" (long, short, and interrupted versions) [] Arrangements of "Kirby Dance". Plays during the victory dances at the end of stages. Long dance plays after getting a Gold Medal and after a boss, short dancenplays when achieving Silver or below in a regular stage, and interrupted version plays between the phases of Yin-Yarn to Mega Yin-Yarn.
"Tankbot" Reused arrangement of "Shooting" from Kirby Air Ride. Heard during Tankbot transformations, as well as the title screens of Dedede Gogogo and Slash & Bead (only in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn).
"King Dedede" Arrangement of "King Dedede's Theme" based on the Kirby Super Star structure. Heard in King Dedede's boss stage.
"Meta Knight" Slower arrangement of "VS. Meta Knight". Heard in Meta Knight's boss stage.
"Dream Land" Slow arrangement of "Ripple Star: Stage Select" in the likes of "Helper's Rest" from Kirby Super Star Ultra. Plays in the Dream Land level hub.
"Green Greens"

Arrangement of "Green Greens" with a "Kirby's Triumphant Return" section. Plays in Whispy's Forest.
"Butter Building" Jazzy arrangement of "Butter Building" in the likes of "Above the Clouds". Plays in Tempest Towers. The American version miscredits the source game as Kirby's Dream Land despite it originating from Kirby's Adventure.

Almost no music from Kirby's Epic Yarn would see representation in other titles in the series. However, there are few and specific exceptions:
