“ | The Waddle Dees you saved found a new, mysterious area: Treasure Road! There could be rare items in there... Hop in and explore! | ” | — Flavor text from Kirby and the Forgotten Land upon unlocking the first stage of Treasure Road |
Treasure Road is a series of optional challenge stages which appear in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. A number of Treasure Road stages appear in each of the first six regular levels of the game, and at 57 total stages, they outnumber the regular stages. They can be unlocked either by clearing stages, saving an amount of Waddle Dees in the area, finding them in the World Map, or evolving abilities. Each stage in Treasure Road takes place in an otherworldly environment similar to Another Dimension, and the goal of each stage is to reach the Rare Stone at the end by performing the required tasks or simply traveling to it before time runs out. Additionally, there is a "target time" for each stage which, if met, will award Kirby 50 Star Coins. Each stage (with a few exceptions) gives Kirby a specific Copy Ability, Evolved Copy Ability, or a Mouthful Mode to make use of. If Kirby does not have the needed Evolved Copy Ability for stages that use them (i.e. he has not had Weapons-Shop Waddle Dee craft the necessary evolution), he cannot enter those stages.
Stock Items from Waddle Dee's Item Shop can naturally be carried into these stages to assist the player if needed. Completing every Treasure Road stage is required for 100% completion, but hitting the target times is not required. Upon completing every Treasure Road stage, Kirby will be awarded the "Rare-Stone Master" figure.
List of stages[edit]
The following is a complete list of every stage in Treasure Road, along with basic information on each one. For more detailed information (including layouts, tips, and video walkthroughs), click the name of the stage in question. Note that the default order shown here is not necessarily the order in which these stages are played, but instead the order in which they are shown in the stage list:
Trivia[edit]
- Generally speaking, the only difference in these stages between Spring-Breeze Mode and Wild Mode is that Kirby has 30 less seconds to complete the stage in Wild Mode, but gains an extra 10 Star Coins for completing a stage in that difficulty. The target time remains the same in both difficulty settings.
- Unlike with regular stages, if Kirby is defeated, he will not lose any Star Coins. Additionally, any Copy Ability gained (or lost) by entering Treasure Road will not apply to Kirby after exiting the stage, nor will any damage he takes be retained.
- Crash and Sleep are the only Copy Abilities in the game without individual Treasure Road stages. Additionally, Deep Sleep is the only Evolved Copy Ability in the game without an individual Treasure Road stage.
