Armor Waddle Dee[Japanese title] is a large robotic shell resembling a Waddle Dee, making its first appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It sports a periscope and mechanical hammer-like bars to appear as its arms. It serves as a somewhat tougher variation of Puppet Waddle Dee, as it is slightly harder to defeat and slightly more sluggish. As with Puppet Waddle Dee, it lacks proper feet and is controlled by three Waddle Dees underneath. It can be destroyed normally to throw out the Waddle Dees inside, or can be quickly defeated if Kirby swallows it with Super Inhale. It will simply attempt to make contact with Kirby, thereby dealing damage to them both (though the Armor Waddle Dee's high durability makes this less of a concern for it). A variant named Armor Halcandle Dee[1] appears on Halcandra, though it differs only in aesthetics. It is silver with more noticeable robotic features, and is controlled instead by three Halcandle Dees. It also lacks a periscope opposed to its original form.
Armor Waddle Dee additionally appears in Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition in the New Challenge Stages.
