This article is about the boss battle theme from Kirby's Pinball Land, and should not be confused with other similarly named boss battle themes.

"Boss"[conjectural title] is the main boss battle theme of Kirby's Pinball Land. It was composed by Tadashi Ikegami.[1]

Composition[edit]

Kirby uses the pinball flippers to fight Kracko and Flapper.

"Boss" starts with a buildup consisting of a drawn out note and rapid percussion, before a few smaller double note hits, similar to the boss theme from Kirby's Dream Land and the boss theme from Kirby's Adventure. From there, the song becomes a lot more frantic, with the melody winding up and down with trills in a repetitive manner. Supported by a repetitive bassline and punchy percussion, the song eventually jumps from G Major down to F Major, though without any melodic changes. After two more repetitions in this new key, the song loops.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Pinball Land[edit]

The song plays in the three boss battles of Kirby's Pinball Land, those being against Whispy Woods, Poppy Bros. Sr., and Kracko.

Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]

In Kirby's Dream Buffet, the boss theme, named "Kirby's Pinball Land: Memorial Song 2" in-game, is an unlockable track, obtained at Gourmet Rank 105. Upon being unlocked, the song can occasionally be heard playing in races and in Free Rolling.

The boss theme also got its first ever arrangement, courtesy of Megumi Ohara. It was rearranged alongside "Last Boss", also from Kirby's Pinball Land, and can occasionally be heard playing in Battle Royales.
