"Sub-Game Menu"[conjectural title] is a theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards that plays in the Sub-Game menu and the character select within it. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

"Sub-Game Menu" is a short and generally static piece in C major/A minor. It features a slowly rising progression from a B to an E, followed by an analogous descending progression from E to A, after which the track loops.

In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, this theme plays in the Sub-Game menu, as well as the character and difficulty selection screens.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]

In Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a remix of the theme titled "Checkerboard Chase - Title" serves as the title screen theme for Checkerboard Chase. Additionally, the original version serves as the secret song version.
