Big Waddle Dee makes a somewhat muted appearance in ''[[Kirby's Return to Dream Land]]''. - This article is about the Big Waddle Dees from various sprite-based Kirby games starting with Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. For the large Waddle Dee in Kirby: Triple Deluxe & Kirby: Planet Robobot, see Grandy. This should also not be confused with the Colossal Waddle Dee from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. For information about Waddle Dees in a general context, see Waddle Dee.
Big Waddle Dee is an extra large Waddle Dee. How much larger it is depends on the game it appears in, but it is at least large enough to be noticeable when compared to its average Waddle Dee counterparts. Apart from the size, there are typically no visual distinctions between this Waddle Dee and the normal ones. However, its increased size usually means that it has more health and/or it takes longer for Kirby to Inhale. It may also become a Blaster Bullet on its own when spat out. Despite its size, Big Waddle Dee is usually no more a threat to Kirby than the normal ones.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe
Big Waddle Dee makes a somewhat muted appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It only appears in a handful of places, usually inside the rifts to Another Dimension, and especially in Extra Mode. It looks identical to its smaller cousins, and is only distinguished by the fact that Kirby spits it out as a giant Star Bullet after inhaling it.
Other appearances and similar
Later games in the series will often feature Waddle Dees of varying sizes. However, these appearances seldom change the actual characteristics of the Waddle Dee aside from how much physical space it takes up. There are a number of distinguished Waddle Dee entities that are larger than their standard counterparts, however:
- Block Waddle Dee - A large Waddle Dee who wears a Star Block for armor which is fought as a Mid-Boss in Kirby Mass Attack.
- Grandy - A woolly Waddle Dee who can be found in Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Kirby: Planet Robobot.
- Colossal Waddle Dee - The first enemy encounter in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe.
Formations such as Puppet Waddle Dee and Armor Waddle Dee also resemble larger Waddle Dees, but are naturally distinct from the actual large Waddle Dees.
