"Ice Cream Island" is a theme from Kirby's Adventure, composed by Hirokazu Ando. Though it was originally only heard in a few of this game's stages, it has been referenced, rearranged, and remixed several times throughout the Kirby series.

Game appearances

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

The theme is used in stages 1 and 3 of Ice Cream Island. In Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, however, this theme is also heard in Stage 2 of Vegetable Valley. The theme can be found as track 40 in the Sound Test (track 03 in the remake).

Kirby's Avalanche

In Kirby's Avalanche, a remix of the Ice Cream Island theme plays in the "1P VS. 2P" mode.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

A very faithful arrangement of the theme plays in Paletto Polis in Kirby: Canvas Curse.

When the "Old School" sound mode is selected, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement plays in Contrast Cave and Dungeon Dome.

Kirby: Squeak Squad

A version of "Ice Cream Island" very similar to the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land one, except with an updated soundfont, can be heard in Stage 2 of Cushy Cloud and Stage 1 of Secret Sea in Kirby: Squeak Squad.

Kirby's Epic Yarn / Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn

In Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, a slow-paced arrangement of "Ice Cream Island", using steel drums and ukulele among other tropical instruments, plays in Meta Melon Isle. It was arranged by the original composer, Hirokazu Ando.[1]

Super Smash Bros. series

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the remix titled "Butter Building Ver. 2", despite its name, features more themes other than "Butter Building", including "Ice Cream Island". It's one of the default tracks of the The Great Cave Offensive stage.

In the same game and its 3DS version, a track simply titled "Ice Cream Island" is one of the tracks available to be played in the Dream Land (64) stage. Despite being named after "Ice Cream Island", it's actually a medley, although it predominantly features said theme.

These two remixes along with their stages reappear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, although the "Butter Building Ver. 2" medley is now renamed to "Butter Building (for 3DS / Wii U)".

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

In Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, a remix of the theme can be unlocked by collecting one of the Treasure Chests found in the The Haunted Ship stage, to then be played at the Music Room as the 13th track.

Other appearances

In the Kirby's Adventure soundtrack album, the theme was paired with others for a vocal remix named 星のカービィ (Kirby of the Stars).
