Disclaimer: This article is to not be moved to being a mainspace WiKirby article, as it is to be meant to be used as general reference and as such may contain informal writing that does not meet WiKirby's writing standards for mainspace.

As of April 27, 2024, I'm working on plans to fit the article for mainspace, as it will be linked for the upcoming List of misconceptions page. The old final revision of this article prior to this date will be archived for historical purposes.

Throughout the Kirby series, there are several musical compositions which are integral to the series' gameplay, boss battles, and cutscenes. However, most of these songs go unnamed, and is especially the case in older games where Sound Test menus do not show much information about the game's audio beyond its internal IDs. In most cases, uploaders of the game's soundtrack will often create conjectural titles to give identity to each song, and will attempt to translate from Japanese soundtrack releases where applicable.

Sources

Zophar's Domain (1996-present)

The earliest known source of these song titles are from a website called Zophar's Domain, the oldest website known to ever host a majority of raw music files pertaining to various Nintendo games, in addition to a plethora of other video game-related resources. The website has been open since 1996, and still archives game soundtracks at present.

Various repositories of old video game soundtracks were often given conjectural titles due to the lack of official names given for them, oftentimes due to vague information given on Sound Test menus and a lack of proper soundtrack releases. If the latter does not apply, English translations given are mostly rough, and officially localized track titles may be translated differently if released way later in certain cases (like Super Mario RPG's Sound Player in the Nintendo Switch version). For example, the song "Kannon's Klaim" from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest was initially given the conjectural name "Mining Melancholy" due to the song not being released with an official title in the official soundtrack until it was given a title in the Game Boy Advance version's sound test menu.

Some songs are titled based on internal data, via in-game context, or are simply given overly playful titles which make it slightly more difficult to know their context. The latter is especially the case for the soundtrack of Kirby: Squeak Squad, which was first given conjectural titles like "What a Great Day" or "Here Come the Squeaks" via uploads on Zophar's Domain, which date back to 2014. Kirby Super Star's soundtrack title listing on Zophar's Domain features most, if not all the same issues that were mentioned here, with bizarre-sounding titles like "Halberd ~ Nightmare Warship", or custom titles based on rough Japanese translations or in-game context like "Trees in the Depths of the Earth" or "Heart of Nova".

Most conjectural titles given by Zophar's Domain are still used at present, often communicated with by other fans of the Kirby series or used by reuploaders of game soundtracks on various websites, such as YouTube.

GiIvaSunner (2010-2022)

The YouTube channel "GiIvaSunner" (now defunct since February 4, 2022[1]) was a repository dedicated to reuploading original soundtracks of various (mostly Nintendo) games. This channel was originally made to replace the even older "SiIvaGunner" channel which was hit with copyright infringement notices and taken down (this is not to be confused with the present-day "SiIvaGunner" which focuses more on remixing and parodying game music with a bait-and-switch tactic, often featuring Internet memes).

Notably, GiIvaSunner carried over some of the oldest conjectural titles on Zophar's Domain in some of its uploads of the Kirby series OST on YouTube, especially in uploads of the Kirby Super Star and Kirby: Squeak Squad soundtrack. It was also the first to give Kirby's Return to Dream Land's music the more popular conjectural titles used, prior to the release of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. This included "File Select", "Funky Area" (KbyW_FUNK1) and "Aurora Area" (due to the aurora borealis present in the background of the stage where it is used). Oftentimes, the soundtrack uploads either were based on internal data, in-game context, or in rare cases translations from the Kirby Wii Music Selection album.

GiIvaSunner was also the first to upload the soundtrack for Kirby: Planet Robobot, prior to the release of the original soundtrack. This led to including some of the most common conjectural titles like "Mind in the Program", or "P-R-O-G-R-A-M", some of which remained on music extension channels and even in some titles used by the related present-day SiIvaGunner channel. However, around 2017, the soundtrack was taken down later due to copyright infringement claims from HAL Laboratory, so all evidence of such was lost except for some uploads by SiIvaGunner.

Other sources

The following is a list of sources which also use conjectural titles, but is not meant to be fully exhaustive, as it will be difficult to document everything on this page:

  • WiKirby also uses conjectural titles in the event songs with no official titles are being documented. These are often made to point back to in-game context as much as possible, or use derived titles based on those from other games, to make it easier for users to search.
  • Before the Kirby Star Allies soundtrack released, its songs were given conjectural titles by YouTube uploader Commander Jersey.
  • VGMdb is a repository of released video game soundtrack listings, often translated from Japanese names. Notably, this is where the conjectural title for Welcome Your New Overlord, "Under My Control" was first named, based on a rough translation by FalcoLau.

Games with official song titles in-game

The following is a list of games that already have official song titles in English and Japanese in-game, often listed under in-game Jukebox menus. Do note that this does not account for games with internal filenames used in some jukeboxes, nor it counts games that have song titles but are very vague in appearance, like Kirby Battle Royale.

Some games have official song titles that are listed outside of gameplay. For officially-released soundtracks (which feature official titles), see. For a complete listing of songs via Jukebox order (which also list official titles where applicable), see Jukebox.

Conjectural song titles per game

Kirby's Dream Land

While often regarded as iconic, the short soundtrack of Kirby's Dream Land may sometimes be given conjectural titles for the more obscure ones. Some of these originate from the unofficial Kirby soundtrack channel Kirby's Sound Test, which also uses the conjectural titles for the Kirby: Squeak Squad OST from Zophar's Domain.

Note that the table aims to document the most notable conjectural titles used, and as such will not include certain tracks (like Green Greens) for the sake of brevity.

Conjectural title Actual title Notes
Spring In Your Step (Zophar's Domain) / Title Theme (Kirby's Sound Test) Welcome to Dream Land "Spring In Your Step" is the title used by Zophar's Domain to refer to the unused arrangement of Welcome to Dream Land in Kirby's Adventure.
Roasted Sweet Potato Shooting Shooting This is a rough translation of the Japanese title from Kirby Air Ride, which can be also simply translated as "Sweet Potato Shooting", and officially known as "Shooting" in the English version.
Mt. DeDeDe: Castle Hall Entrance Made with context of the area in mind, although the song does not mostly take place within the castle halls, which are from the starting point of the area.
Ending Theme (Kirby's Sound Test) / Together with the Spring Breeze (Kirby Super Star, Zophar's Domain) / A New Wind for Tomorrow "Together with the Spring Breeze" (the Kirby Super Star arrangement) is based on the Japanese title for Spring Breeze.
All songs composed by Jun Ishikawa. This is based on conjectural names given by Kirby's Sound Test and Zophar's Domain.

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Among the earliest instances of conjectural titles being used in unofficial reuploads of Kirby game soundtracks is Kirby's Adventure, with the earliest known listing of such dating back to July 16, 2016.[2] An official soundtrack for the game was released a year after the original game came out.

World music ("Vegetable Valley" = Level 1 Map Select) will not be listed for brevity. Songs are listed in the order they are shown on Zophar's Domain. If there are no official titles for a song, conjectural titles within the "Actual title" section are marked with an asterisk (*).

Forest Trail Forest Stage Hirokazu Ando
Island Paradise Ice Cream Island (Sea and Ship Stages) Hirokazu Ando

Nightmare Emerges Nightmare Demo* Jun Ishikawa or Hirokazu Ando
Battle Across the Sky Nightmare's Power Orb* Jun Ishikawa Describes the battle taking place in the sky.
Moon (part 1), Nightmare (part 2) Final Boss Hirokazu Ando Describes the battle taking place on the moon, as well as the final boss.
Choices Museum and Star Landing Jun Ishikawa or Hirokazu Ando Describes the context of the player being able to choose a Copy Ability via the Museum or another world via a Warp Star Station. Both locations feature this song.
Hyper Invincible Candy Jun Ishikawa Name of the current state Kirby takes when using the Invincible Candy in this game.
Spring in your Step Welcome to Dream Land Jun Ishikawa Unused track heard in the Sound Test.
Ending Ending Demo Hirokazu Ando
This is based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain.

Uniquely, the new tracks in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land have also conjectural titles. The uploads on Zophar's Domain also have some unusual changes from the original uploads:

List of conjectural song titles in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Conjectural title Actual title Composer Notes
Butter Buildings Butter Building Hirokazu Ando One letter too many from the original title.
Field Stages Green Greens Jun Ishikawa
Forest Stages Forest Stage Hirokazu Ando One letter too many from the original title.
Sky Stages Underground Stage Hirokazu Ando More accurately describes the song being used in various athletic/sky stages.
Coliseum Duel Mid-Boss Battle Hirokazu Ando The song is now used only for the arenas in the game
Dedede Battle Fountain of Dreams Tadashi Ikegami The official title for this song was revealed in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Meta Knight's Forces Room Guarder (Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards) Jun Ishikawa The official titles of these "forces" are the Meta-Knights.
Meta Knight Battle Tower of Midbosses Jun Ishikawa Incorrect because Meta Knight's battle in this game still uses "Boss", and this title may have somehow overlapped with the Meta Knight battle in Kirby: Squeak Squad, which does use that theme.
Samurai Kirby Quick Draw Jun Ishikawa The theming of this Sub-Game is changed to match Samurai Kirby, hence the title. As a consequence, this is actually an arrangement of the Samurai Kirby jingle from Kirby Super Star, and this title was made technically correct thanks to Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
This is based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain.

Kirby's Dream Course

The following is a list of conjectural titles for Kirby's Dream Course first given by Zophar's Domain, with earliest known date being December 6, 2009.[3] These titles are known to be used often on reuploads of the game soundtrack on YouTube.

An unusual case of a conjectural title becoming official can be first seen here, with the song title Iceberg Ocean also being used to name the same song in the Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack. The reason for this being the case is very unclear.

Music order is arranged by Sound Room listing. Click the arrows to sort by Zophar's Domain track order or Jukebox order. All tracks are composed by Hirokazu Ando.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

While common conjectural titles follow the names of the levels they are used in, some of these are highlighted:

List of conjectural song titles in Kirby's Dream Land 2
Conjectural title Actual title Composer Notes
Rick the Hamster Rick's Theme Hirokazu Ando Recent revisions of the Game Boy - Nintendo Switch Online description for Kirby's Dream Land 2 state that Rick, Kine and Coo "look like a hamster, fish, and owl respectively", no longer outright confirming they are of those species. This is more in line with how they are described in the Japanese version.
Kine the Fish Kine's Theme Tadashi Ikegami See above
Coo the Owl Coo's Theme Tadashi Ikegami See above
Duel in the Darkened Sky Dark Matter Blade (Unfortunately no official name) Jun Ishikawa or Tadashi Ikegami Used in the battle against Dark Matter Phase 1, which does take place in a dark sky.
This is based on conjectural names given by XIIIZocker, which I believe is the earliest source of these names. Zophar's Domain gives a different set of names.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra

In Kirby Super Star, there are several songs that go unnamed, outside of more iconic themes like Gourmet Race. Most of them would eventually get names via the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track official release for Kirby Super Star Ultra, in Japanese, and some would also get official names in other games' named Jukebox songs whenever applicable.

Prior to most of these tracks being named officially, the entire soundtrack of Kirby Super Star was given a variety of descriptive conjectural titles by Zophar's Domain, with some being based on rough translations of the Japanese names of various places where those tracks appear (although those tracks didn't have official Japanese names either at the time of the game's release). When downloading the raw music files from Zophar's Domain (in their .spc format), these files have a modified date of December 11, 2007, fully confirming the site as being the initial source of those titles

For a more comprehensive list on official song titles and their sources, see Jukebox/Kirby Super Star. Note that some may remain conjectural for the meantime as they don't have official titles, and in such cases they will be marked with an asterisk (*). All songs are composed by either Jun Ishikawa or Dan Miyakawa.

List of conjectural song titles in Kirby Super Star
Conjectural title Actual title Notes
Kirby Super Star Grand Opening A common way to name opening songs in the Kirby series conjecturally is to use the title of the game it appears in.
Time to Learn The Beginner's Room
Nighttime Activities Spring Breeze Refers to the first half of the intro for Spring Breeze taking place at night.
Together with the Spring Breeze A New Wind for Tomorrow Japanese name for Spring Breeze. (はるかぜとともに)
Unlike other songs with a similar naming convention, this is used to name the credits to this specific game mode as the title screen of Spring Breeze in the original Kirby Super Star is silent (it uses Welcome to Dream Land in Kirby Super Star Ultra however)
Interrupted Sleep Dyna Blade (Intro sounds)* Kirby can be seen sleeping in the intro cutscene for Dyna Blade, and he eventually gets interrupted after the eponymous bird flies by.
White Wing Dynablade Dyna Blade: Title* Japanese name for the main game title of Dyna Blade (しろつばさダイナブレイド), can be otherwise translated as "White Wings, Dyna Blade"
Marshmallow Castle Mallow Castle Japanese name of Mallow Castle is Marshmallow Castle (マシュマロ城)
Sky High (YTPMV communities) Candy Mountain In YouTube Poop Music Video (YTPMV) communities, the song "Candy Mountain" is sometimes referred to as "Sky High" in videos that remix the song with audio samples cut from an existing video. This is because the song is also used in Skyhigh, a stage in Milky Way Wishes.
Choose Your Weapon Ability Trial Room It should be noted that not all Copy Abilities featured here make use of held weapons.
Dyna's Chicks Live Healthy (Dyna Chick sounds)* Song title refers to the sound of Dyna Blade's chicks, which is also incorporated into Live Healthy's cutscene in Kirby Super Star Ultra (note: the latter case features a brand new song)
Dreaming of Food Gourmet Race: Intro* More in reference to Kirby thinking about food while floating up to the top of the cliff in the cutscene it plays in.
Crash! Gourmet Race Gourmet Race: Title* Japanese title for Gourmet Race (激突げきとつ!グルメレース)
Run, Kirby, Run! Gourmet Race
Hilltop Chase Corn Hall*
Trees in the Depths of the Earth Sub-Tree Area Japanese title for Sub-Tree, the area this song plays in. (ちていの木々きぎ)
The title can be translated as either Subterranean Forest or Trees in the Depths of the Earth.
Save Hut Rest Area Slightly inaccurate - the rest areas do not appear to be made of the same material as actual huts.
Mine Cart Riding Mine Cart Area* Plays in intermission areas with mine carts in them.
Crystal Field and Mystery Paradise Crystal Area "Crystal Field" and "Mystery Paradise" (or "Mystical Paradise") are the Japanese titles for Crystal (すいしょうのはたけ) and Garden (しんぴの楽園らくえん), respectively.
Battle Windows Computer Virus Battle* This is the Japanese name for Computer Virus (バトルウィンドウズ)
Meta Knight's Scheme Revenge of Meta Knight* The closest to official title of the song is its Theater cutscene name in Kirby Super Star Ultra, simply named "Revenge of Meta Knight". Named based on cutscene context.
Halberd ~ Nightmare Warship Boarding the Halberd
Grape Garden Sea Stage Incorrect title, as the setting of Chapter 2 of Revenge of Meta Knight is not in Grape Garden. The title was just assumed from Meta Knight's dialogue:
"But first a little test. Off to Grape Gardens!"
Taking over the Halberd Havoc Aboard the Halberd Due to how it is named, it can be easily confused with the official titles of songs related to the Halberd.
Above the Halberd Revenge of Meta Knight (Map) Same reasoning as above.
Meta Knight's Theme VS. Meta Knight
Meta Knight Defeated / My Friend and the Setting Sun My Friend and the Sunset "My Friend and the Setting Sun" is an alternate translation of the Japanese title given on the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track (友と夕陽と…).
Flying Through Outer Space Milky Way Wishes: Map* Describes the method of traversing the world map in Milky Way Wishes.
Wishing with Nova Marx's Mad Plan
Heart of Nova Milky Way Wishes: Shooting This conjectural title is in reference to the theming of the stage this song is set in, and also based on the flavor text for Starship:
"Ride the Starship, made from star power, into the heart of NOVA in order to stop MARX's evil plan to takeover Dream Land!"
Marx's Theme Vs. Marx or Meddlesome Marx
Kirby's Triumphant Return Kirby's Triumphant Return Listing this as a very special case because this predated the same official title used for the cutscene of the same name.
Floating Away Continue?*
Milky Way Wishes: Title (Kirby Super Star Ultra)*
This song used to be played in the Game Over screen for all games besides Milky Way Wishes, but is instead moved as a title theme for aforementioned game in Kirby Super Star Ultra.
Instant Sword Death Samurai Kirby Mistranslation of the Japanese name for Samurai Kirby, "Slash in a Flash" (刹那せつな見斬みきり). Properly translated in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
Way of the Fighting King The Arena This is the Japanese title of The Arena (格闘かくとうおうへのみち), which can be also translated accurately as "The Road to Becoming a Fighting King".
Gladiator Kirby / Colosseum Battle Arena Showdown May be used to describe how Kirby battles within a mid-boss arena in some battles. Colosseum Battle is another Japanese translation of Arena Showdown, first seen in the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track.
Staff Roll Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits
This is based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain. Songs were tagged by VGWarrior, Datschge, Warpstar, and YK, as credited on Zophar's Domain. Other sources may apply.

Next up are the titles featured in the Kirby Super Star Ultra OST, given by Zophar's Domain. This does not account for all the music reused from the original Super Star.

Conjectural title Actual title Notes
Masked Dedede Theme Masked Dedede's Theme (or The Masked King)
The King and the Sun The King and the Sun* Name taken from the cutscene, using the same naming principle as My Friend and the Sunset, which is derived from the cutscene "Friends and Sun".
Helper to Hero Select Megaton Punch The Megaton Punch theme is reused for the character select screen in Helper to Hero.
The Strongest Knight in the Galaxy The Greatest Warrior in the Galaxy Rough translation of the Japanese title. (銀河最強ぎんがさいきょう戦士せんし)
Colosseum Battle (The True Arena) True Arena Showdown The Japanese name for Arena Showdown can be literally translated as Colosseum Battle.
Corkboard Complete Alternate Corkboard
This is based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain, or other sources whenever applicable.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Song titles for various stage music in Kirby's Dream Land 3 are named with the level it first appears in, as well as a number to differentiate from the others, making them easy to search. For example, "Stage: Comical" is often referred to as "Sand Canyon 1". Note that a similar naming convention is used for official releases of such tracks including "Grass Land (1)" (Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack).

For the sake of brevity, only the more prominent conjectural titles will be listed here. Any actual titles that remain conjectural will be marked with an asterisk (*).

Incorrect Path (No official title) Plays when taking the wrong path in Stage 4 of Grass Land.
Grass Land 4 Plains Stage Also rearranged in Kirby Star Allies under the name "Misteen Ocean".
Ripple Field 1 Ripple Field: Ocean Waves
Ripple Field 2 Ripple Field
Sand Canyon 1 / Sand Canyon Stage: Comical Sometimes referred to generically as "Sand Canyon" among fans, often in YTPMV remixes of the song using clips of existing media as instruments.
Sand Canyon 2 Gourmet Race (Semi-conjectural)
Sand Canyon 3 Desert Stage
Iceberg The Last Iceberg Referred to as such due to it being the only unique track that is from said level.
Miniboss Battle Mid-Boss* Note that Mid-Bosses are usually not referred to as "minibosses" in any official material.
Big Boss Battle Boss*
Cast Montage / Bad Ending THE END…? The song is unnamed in this game. It is given the official title of its arrangement from Kirby Star Allies to compensate.
"Cast Montage" refers to this ending showcasing several enemies with names, including "???".
Hyper Zone 1 VS. Dark Matter
Hyper Zone 2 Vs. Zero*
All songs composed by Jun Ishikawa. Based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

The commonly-used titles used for the soundtrack of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards are technically not conjectural, due to them being based on rough translations of their Japanese names from the Hoshi no Kirby 64 Original Soundtrack album. Some of those were first given by VGMdb, with the listings first added on August 4, 2006, and an earliest archived capture on the Wayback Machine dating as far as December 6, 2009.

YouTube soundtrack uploader Laizorb also uses more generic conjectural titles such as "Ripple Star Catacombs", "Taking Battle" and "Factory Inspection". These track names date from the year 2008-2010, making them the first appearance of these more common conjectural titles prior to Zophar's Domain's upload of the soundtrack in 2016.

Zophar's Domain also uploaded the songs with the Japanese titles, following closely on the translations from VGMdb. Despite this, several translation mistakes are present, including misspelling Adeleine in one instance as "Adeline" instead, and further worsening the translations of certain cutscene music ("Beach's Backyard" being actually "Idiot of the Sea"/"All Washed Up", and "Here We Go" being misinterpreted as "Overnight Detective"). For some reason, various reuploads of the Kirby 64 soundtrack on YouTube use these titles despite accurate translations existing for most of the songs on VGMdb.

Note that the following titles are considered official to some capacity unless if they are mistranslated, in which case they will be classified as conjectural with an asterisk symbol (*). This symbol will also be used to mark any titles listed under the "Actual title" column that remain conjectural.

List of conjectural song titles in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Conjectural title Actual title Composer Notes
Battle Among Friends - Adeline*[sic] (Zophar's Domain) Battle with Friends (official title) / Battle with Friends: Adeleine* Jun Ishikawa The medley refers to all three songs, and as such the individual songs do not have official titles aiming to use the conjectural "Battle with Friends - (name)". For instance, Adeleine's battle music is specifically named "Battle with Friends: Adeleine", formatted with a colon instead of a dash (to match with some official Kirby song titles using a colon).
Additionally, "Battle Among Friends" is an alternative translation, which still carries the general idea. On VGMdb, it is translated as "Battle Against Comrades" instead.
Rock Star - Quicksand* (Laizorb) Inside the Castle* Jun Ishikawa or Hirokazu Ando This song is also used in Pop Star - Stage 3, making this title slightly inaccurate.
Mountain Stream* Down the Mountain Stream Jun Ishikawa Translated correctly on VGMdb, but not in Zophar's Domain's case.
Taking Battle* (Zophar's Domain/Laizorb) / Take-Take Battle (VGMdb) Bumper Crop Bump* Jun Ishikawa Rough translation of the Japanese title of Bumper Crop Bump, "Catch Catch Battle" (とるとるバトル). The word "Toru" (とる) can be translated as either "catch" or "take", hence the conjectural translation used.
This translation was first used by Laizorb in an upload of the song to YouTube on April 27, 2008, but is translated more literally instead as "Take-Take Battle" on VGMdb.
Falling Fight* (Zophar's Domain/Laizorb) Checkerboard Chase Jun Ishikawa Rough translation of the Japanese title of Checkerboard Chase, "Fall Fall Fight". (おちおちファイト). Properly named in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
Noisy Race (Zophar's Domain)* / Ken-Ken Race (VGMdb) / Race Game (Laizorb) 100-Yard Hop* Jun Ishikawa First title is a mistranslation of the Japanese title of 100-Yard Hop, "Hop Hop Race" (けんけんレース). It is not known how "けんけん" was mistranslated as "Noisy".
Race Game is a more generic term used by Laizorb in an upload of the song on February 11, 2010.
Enemy Card Index* (No official title. It is based on Entrance.) Jun Ishikawa The menu is called Enemy Info in-game. This title is also used on Laizorb's upload of the soundtrack on February 11, 2010.
Factory Inspection* (Zophar's Domain/Laizorb) / Studying the Factory (VGMdb) Studying the Factory Jun Ishikawa Rough translation of its Japanese title of the song, "Factory Tour" (こうじょうけんがく). The word "うけんがく" means "tour" in English, but can be also translated as "inspection" or "study". The title appears to be translated first as "Factory Inspection" by Laizorb in an upload of the Kirby 64 soundtrack dated February 11, 2010.
Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack gave the official title, which was also translated correctly on VGMdb.
Ripple Star Catacombs* (Laizorb) Catacombs* Jun Ishikawa or Hirokazu Ando Laizorb uploaded the Kirby 64 soundtrack to YouTube on February 11, 2010. This specific upload of the song is the first to name it as Ripple Star Catacombs due to it lacking an official title. It is described as being like a catacomb due to the word also being used to define a labyrinthine area, which is accurate to what the stage it plays in looks like in layout.
Alright, On To The Next On to Rock Star Hirokazu Ando Rough translation of the Japanese title: OK, On to the Next (よっしゃつぎいこ).
I'm Hungry (Zophar's Domain) / I'm Starving (VGMdb) Desert Desserts Hirokazu Ando Japanese title of the cutscene (はらへったぁ)
Beach's Backyard* (Zophar's Domain) / Idiot of the Sea (VGMdb) All Washed Up Hirokazu Ando First title is a mistranslation of the Japanese title "Idiot of the Sea" (うみのバカヤロー), where the word "idiot" (バカヤロー ) was mistakenly translated as "backyard" (バックヤード)'
Major Specialization* (Zophar's Domain) / Great Eruption (VGMdb) Hot Waddle Dawdle Hirokazu Ando First title is a mistranslation of the Japanese title, "Great Eruption"; they misread 噴火ふんか eruption as 分化ぶんか specialization. It is translated correctly on VGMdb.
Overnight Detective* Ripple Rescue Hirokazu Ando Mistranslation of the Japanese title "Here We Go" (やらいでか), misinterpreting it as "夜来でか" which would mean "overnight detective" instead. This error can be seen on VGMdb and Zophar's Domain's listings of the song.
Bye-Bye Fare...well? Hirokazu Ando Japanese title of the cutscene (バイバイ)
Final Decisive Battle Darkness Calls Hirokazu Ando Rough translation of the Japanese title of the cutscene, usually translated as "The Final Battle" (さいしゅうけっせん)

Kirby: Squeak Squad

The entirety of the soundtrack of Kirby: Squeak Squad has received conjectural song titles due to there being almost no official release of the soundtrack in any capacity. This time, the song titles are often descriptive and playful, sometimes getting the context incorrect in some cases, making it slightly more challenging to trace back to where those songs are played in-game.

When downloading the raw music files from the Kirby: Squeak Squad soundtrack listing on Zophar's Domain, these music file in the Nintendo DS's "mini2sf" music format have a modified date metadata of December 18, 2014, which proves that these titles were initially done as such by Zophar's Domain. These titles are still used on various music reuploads on YouTube, as well as the present-day version of "SiIvaGunner".

Most official names have been provided by the Nintendo Mobile ringtone service, Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack, Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition Compilation Soundtrack and other sources where applicable. For more information, see Jukebox#Kirby: Squeak Squad. If some titles remain conjectural, they use what is provided by WiKirby and will be marked with an asterisk (*).

Wonders of the Stars Snow Area* / Ice Island* Jun Ishikawa/Hirokazu Ando/Tadashi Ikegami/Shogo Sakai Snow stage theme that is played in Ice Island.
Having Fun Outside Prism Plains Jun Ishikawa (Assumed) Is a slight remix of Grass Land (3), used in Prism Plains.
Traveling the Woods Green Greens Jun Ishikawa There are no stages set within a forest-like area where the song is played. The stages in Nature Notch that play this song are set in an garden-like ruins. In Stage 1 of Vocal Volcano, the song plays in the mountainous areas.

Spooky Surroundings Eerie Underground Jun Ishikawa A title that is very close to the official version, which is more or less of a sheer coincidence.
The Hero of Dreamland Galaxy Area* / Gamble Galaxy* Jun Ishikawa/Hirokazu Ando/Tadashi Ikegami/Shogo Sakai Describes Kirby and is used in the final non-boss stage in Gamble Galaxy. Do note that Dream Land is misspelled as just one word.
Oncoming Peril Boss Battle Jun Ishikawa/Hirokazu Ando/Tadashi Ikegami/Shogo Sakai Boss theme used for Mrs. Moley and Bohboh.
Here Come the Squeaks! Squeak Squad Appears! Jun Ishikawa Used for any appearance of a member of the Squeaks in any capacity, making this conjectural title somewhat related in context.

Hirokazu Ando, Hironobu Inagaki and Atsuyoshi Isemura Direct port of the "Cave/Rocky Area" theme from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror.

No Time to Waste The Legendary Halberd Jun Ishikawa and Shogo Sakai The title describes the more urgent situation Kirby has to partake in by going into Gamble Galaxy with the Halberd.
Ultimate Squeak Battle Vocal Volcano Jun Ishikawa/Hirokazu Ando/Tadashi Ikegami/Shogo Sakai Inaccurate as this song is featured in most stages of Vocal Volcano, which have no boss rush against all members of the Squeak Squad in its stages. The song describes Stage 5 of Ice Island more which is a mid-boss rush against the Squeaks, but all the Squeaks there use "Squeak Squad Appears!" instead of this track.
This song is also used as the title theme for this game's Boss Endurance, tying into the context of the title slightly.

Unknown 2 Storm Cloud* / Cushy Cloud 2* Jun Ishikawa/Hirokazu Ando/Tadashi Ikegami/Shogo Sakai Plays in later stages of Cushy Cloud, especially the more stormy areas.
This is based on conjectural names given by Zophar's Domain.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land

For a very long time, the soundtrack of Kirby's Return to Dream Land relied on a combination of rough Japanese translations from Kirby Wii Music Selection, assumed titles based on internal names and stage themes, and so much more. I've theorized that the rest of the conjectural titles were done by uploaders like GiIvaSunner and BrawlBRSTMs3 X when they uploaded the OST to YouTube.

GiIvaSunner was the first uploader of those songs to use these conjectural titles, especially those which are based on internal data names for most stage music. It should be noted that more obscure uploads of the songs that are way before GiIvaSunner may have used different song titles and often include beta tracks accidentally mixed into them.

Some song titles were translated from Kirby Wii Music Selection by WiKirby administrator FalcoLau on VGMDb. This introduced the first instance of Welcome Your New Overlord being initially referred to as "Under My Control", and this conjectural translation even still persists at present.

As of February 24, 2023, all songs in the game soundtrack have received official titles in English and Japanese (and other languages) thanks to the inclusion of song titles in the Jukebox for Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. There are no conjectural titles for the new songs in the latter, as they have been already given official names.

Landia Guardian Angel: Landia Jun Ishikawa
Another Dimension Fly, Kirby! Hirokazu Ando Used to be the title for a long time until it was confirmed to be "Fly! Kirby of the Stars" in Japanese (飛べ!星のカービィ), and "Fly, Kirby!" in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Note that "Another Dimension" is an actual official song title, but it corresponds to the song that plays in interdimensional segments that is also conjecturally referred to as "Looming Darkness".
Under My Control (VGMdb) / VS Magolor (GiIvaSunner) Welcome Your New Overlord Jun Ishikawa Under My Control is a rough translation of Magolor's last dialogue in the Japanese version of the Let Me Explain Everything cutscene. It can be translated as "Fall Under my Rule", but many Kirby fans use "Under My Control" more until the release of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. It was first given as a title by FalcoLau, from his translations of the song titles for Kirby Wii Music Selection on VGMDb.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

Most of the titles have been given official names in the Club Nintendo album, but so far only a few tracks managed to stay conjectural:

Waking to a flowery coup! (Look above, same Conjectural WiKirby title) Hirokazu Ando Taking Dedede away I see
Sun Stone Got a Sun Stone! (Conjectural WiKirby title) Hirokazu Ando Why wasn't this added lol
Cold Odyssey (No official title) Jun Ishikawa It's a mystery why they didn't decide to add this to the OST.
Dirty and Beauty Sullied Grace Jun Ishikawa Adding this as a special case because the Japanese translation of the song title has been used as a conjectural title for a long while.
(StarPunch's note: on the Japanese soundtrack, the song name is literally written in English as "Dirty & Beauty")
The Arena: Rest Area (No official title) / Helper's Rest / Ripple Star: Stage Select (That calm version I know which is used literally 999x) Jun Ishikawa Sing the ABC song to tune of this song.
Soul of Sectonia (No official title) / The World to Win Hirokazu Ando A unique arrangement of The World to Win with a new intro.

Kirby: Planet Robobot

So, Kirby: Planet Robobot's soundtrack has quite the shaky history of conjectural song titles. It is thought that the first case where the conjectural titles for the game's soundtrack were made up was thanks to the YouTube soundtrack channel "GiIvaSunner". The songs were uploaded a few days after the game's release in Japan (late April 2016), and thus became the most prominent source for those conjectural titles. Some prominent examples that remain through SiIvaGunner's videos were "P-R-O-G-R-A-M", "Clear Movie", and "City of Sound"[4] However due to a copyright takedown of the OST on this channel by HAL Laboratory in January 2018, much of the older titles remain lost.

Like in the OST for Kirby's Return to Dream Land, these songs were initially named with these conjectural titles, however some songs were eventually given the official titles in parentheses (roughly translated from Japanese) when the Planet Robobot OST was "ripped" by "SiIvaGunner", the ACTUAL high quality ripper (actually these are joke rips). Additional made-up conjectural titles were settled in by Ferahnaz Durmaz, who has made extended videos of the Planet Robobot OST, and has released those videos on June 2016.

Also, Planet Robobot has been a very huge hotspot and influence for many of SiIvaGunner's rips, don't deny that. President Haltmann has seen himself on the channel several times. I won't list all the SiIvaGunner titles as they are translations of the Japanese titles (a tactic used to avoid a potential takedown from HAL Laboratory), but I may sometimes list them for completion purposes.

I'm listing the most prominent ones though, so don't blame me if there's a couple of stuff missing:

Patched Pathway (Area 1) / Patched Plains Venturing into the Mechanized World Hirokazu Ando Update now.
May have been named like that because most fans wanted a parallel title similar to Floral Fields.
Stage Results Clouds Park Hirokazu Ando GIMME YOUR STICKERS
Program Rhythm / Puzzle Room (SiIvaGunner) Rhythm Code Hirokazu Ando This continue screen looks a little sussy.
(StarPunch's note: "Program Rhythm" is the Japanese name)
Mechanical Invaders Metal N. Vasion Hirokazu Ando Metal N. Vasion sounds way more sick than this title.
Heart of Steel Pink Ball Activate! Hirokazu Ando Heart of Steel is not even that close.
Green Gears Re: Green Greens Hirokazu Ando Green Gears sounds fitting tbh.
Train Steel Beat Hirokazu Ando What? That's the conjectural title? Really?
Green Goo (Green Lab Area) Green Laboratory Hirokazu Ando Where's all the goo!?
Probably referring to all the gooey specimen in the background, however they also appear in other laboratory stages in different colors.
Threat Beyond Enemy Doors Loading... Hirokazu Ando The official title is better I guess.
Haltmann Works Elite Management VS. The Wicked Company Hirokazu Ando This sounds way too official honestly, but let's not forget this is a boss theme.
Lively Street Yearning for Yellow (Vroom!) Hirokazu Ando Lively Street is fitting honestly.
Shooting through the Sky Flight of Azure Hirokazu Ando I like the official title. Pretty fancy for flying through the sky. The color azure refers to both Jet Mode and the sky!
Spinning Roulette Gorgeous-Go-Round Jun Ishikawa It kinda fits, but there's more than just a roulette, from billiard balls to dice!
Aqua Harbor Bountiful Star Jun Ishikawa Sure it fits as the stages where the song plays are set by the harbor.
May have been named like that due to the song's similarities with Aqua Star's stage music.
Robobot Road Ride Outlaw Driver Hirokazu Ando You don't need a license to drive a Robobot Wheel Mode.
Ice Cream Factory / My Happy Sweet Time (SiIvaGunner) Time for Dessert! Hirokazu Ando Susie, have you been eating a comically large scoop of ice cream lately!?
(StarPunch's note: "My Happy Sweet Time" is, more-or-less, the Japanese name; we translate it as "My Happy ☆ Sweets Time ♪")
Sea City Submarine Suburbs Jun Ishikawa The official name is the fan name but upgraded to the maximum.
Secretary Susie's Themes 1 & 2 Haltmann Works Co. Theme Song & Caught Me Singing Hirokazu Ando Merging these two as they are related to each other.
Electric Engines Gigabyte Grounds Jun Ishikawa How on earth did the channel mistake that for a train theme!?
Dinner Desert Dried-up Sea Jun Ishikawa Forks and blenders make up a dinner desert.
Air Battle Core Kabula Surprise! Hirokazu Ando Core Kabula jumpscare!
SiIvaGunner also uses the name "Core Kabula" for when it posted a high quality rip of this song.[5]
City of Sound / Befuddling Skyscraper (SiIvaGunner) Sky-High and Smitten Jun Ishikawa Kinda makes sense I guess?
(StarPunch's note: "Befuddling Skyscraper" is a more literal translation of the Japanese name, "Intoxicated by the Skyscrapers")
Techno Tower Neon Laboratory Hirokazu Ando BANGER ALERT INCOMING
Dedede Three Dedede's Tridimensional Cannon Hirokazu Ando WOAH here it comes! 9.3 Billion in Anguish!
Laser Lab / White Office March (SiIvaGunner) Pristine Office March Jun Ishikawa The first one makes sense because of the lasers. The second one is a rough translation of the Japanese title.
Virtual Dimension L86 Jun Ishikawa L86 sounds really wacky as a song title eh?
Mecha Knightmare / Battle with the Spirit of Self (SiIvaGunner) Inner Struggle Jun Ishikawa Inner Struggle sounds more fitting imo.
(StarPunch's note: "Battle with the Spirit of Self" is a more literal translation of the Japanese title)
President Max Profitt Haltmann's Theme Loveless Command Hirokazu Ando What a long name for a conjectural title...
Money Machine Crazy Rolling in Money Jun Ishikawa Honestly the official title fits more. President Haltmann be makin' capitalism REAL!
Like with "Dirty & Beauty", "Crazy Rolling in Money" is also written in English in the Japanese version of the soundtrack, and is still named as such in English releases. However, people used the Money Machine title more when the official titles weren't released yet, referring to President Haltmann's mech, which DOES actually shoot money as a screen-obscuring attack.
Star Dream's Plan Apocalyptic Reboot Hirokazu Ando Star Dream is about to end YOUR world.
ROBOBOT HALBERD MODE Final Takeoff Hirokazu Ando Also the theme Parallel Landia stole from.
Mind in a PROGRAM VS. Star Dream Hirokazu Ando The title refers to the name of the level: Mind in the Program. VS. Star Dream sounds kinda disappointing lol.
Combination Fatal Error Hirokazu Ando I don't think I need to explain this one.
Virtual Space Manipulator Intermezzo Without a Leader Jun Ishikawa It's freaky because you're fighting the Planet Robobot.
PROGRAM/P-R-O-G-R-A-M / Super Nova Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection Hirokazu Ando Let it be known that calling this song PROGRAM is a mortal sin. Even more so if Super Nova.
Robobot Rush Pink Ball Revolution Hirokazu Ando Gurren Lagann Moment.
May have referred to the final Robobot Armor segments in Access Ark - Stage 5, which act as an enemy and boss rush in a sense with you fighting solo Holo Defense API fights, mid-bosses, and even Gigavolt II.
Darkness Returns / Dark Reproduction Reproduction of Darkness Hirokazu Ando Kirby's Dream Land 2 x2. It sounds like a cutscene name, but Dark Matter Clone's cutscene name is The Dark Rainbow Thief.
Hey, Waddlez cameo. Dark Reproduction is so close, yet so far! This is what it was called on one version of the soundtrack ripped onto KHInsider, so it's probably just a grammatical goof - brownie points for coming that close.
The True Arena - Battle Combat Evaluation Program Hirokazu Ando So, let's have another go at evaluating your fighting will.
Last Fight / Heart of Nova Soul 0 System Hirokazu Ando Once again, Heart of Nova is a conjectural name for the Kirby Super Star song Milky Way Wishes: Shooting, first seen on Zophar's Domain. Last Fight could mean anything else.
Star Dream Soul OS Vagrant Keepsake of Oblivion Hirokazu Ando A similar case to conjecturally naming Soul of Sectonia's theme.
Clear Movie (SiIvaGunner) The Noble Haltmann: Final Recital Hirokazu Ando Please listen to this.
This is based on conjectural names given by Ferahnaz Durmaz, with some given by SiIvaGunner or Zophar's Domain.

Kirby Star Allies

Back when the names of the various songs in the game weren't revealed yet, I used to refer to them using Commander Jersey's conjectural titles. Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack gives all the game's music official titles, even acting as a source for some tracks that weren't released as CD tracks before.

I'll also be grouping these tracks in order of updates in addition to the original playlist order set on Commander Jersey's Star Allies OST. These conjectural titles also display on his Kirby Live Radio service, and same holds true for even past games like Kirby Super Star and Kirby: Squeak Squad.

What's not included is:

  • Cutscene music - they should be roughly the same title as in the soundtrack
  • Sound effects and ambience
  • Any tracks not included in Commander Jersey's Star Allies uploads for whatever reason
  • World map music as they're already equal to the soundtrack's titles
  • Most of the levels' OST as they match up with most of the instrumental

IMPORTANT: Titles are in the process of being re-translated per this talkpage on the mainspace. Please update if these new translations are put into effect.

Green Gardens (Green Gears Orchestral) Green Gardens Hirokazu Ando Listing this as a special case since while Green Gardens is correct, I want to point out that "Green Gears" is the same conjectural title that was made by Ferahnaz Durmaz for their upload of said song, which is "Re: Green Greens".

Dream Palace Wish-granting Palace Hirokazu Ando Exactly as it says on the tin.
Puzzle Room Friend Puzzle Jun Ishikawa Not to be confused with Rhythm Code from Kirby: Planet Robobot, which was also referred to by the conjectural title "Puzzle Room" (and later "Program Rhythm", based on the Japanese title)

Clash at Castle Dedede For Those Who Are Brave Hirokazu Ando The song also plays in the fight against Grand Mam, btw.
Swole Dedede Scuffle Macho of Dedede Hirokazu Ando Macho of Dedede is better so it can parallel with "Roar of Dedede" from Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and it at least is a better way to talk about King Dedede's workout routines.
Gallery Sudden Happy Ending Hirokazu Ando Referred to with such a name because it's used in the Celebration Pictures collection menu. Remember this song is used on the fake credits.
Friend Star Twinkle☆Traveler Hirokazu Ando The problem with this title is that it's also the same song used for Friend Train.

Zan Partizanne Battle Forgotizanne Flash of Lightning Hirokazu Ando Okay so uh... Zand in my PartizEyes's theme? No wait what's her name again?

Pop Star 64 (Map) Remix Pop Star: Stage Select/Star Allies Arrangement ver. Hirokazu Ando Eh...
Mirror Overworld Remix Start Stage/Star Allies Arrangement ver. Yuuta Ogasawara Notably, this is a different conjectural title used than "Intro Stage", which comes from Zophar's Domain.
Squeak Squad Main Theme Remix Squeak Squad: Title/Star Allies Arrangement ver. Jun Ishikawa Mind you, this is titled "Title Screen" on Zophar's Domain's rip of the Squeak Squad OST, but I'm not listing it as it's too generic.
The Adventure Begins (Cookie Country) Cookie Country/Star Allies Arrangement ver. Yuuta Ogasawara Absolutely wrong on so many levels - this is an arrangement of "Four Adventurers: Cookie Country". "The Adventure Begins" refers to a different track.
