"Final Boss"[Japanese title] is a theme composed by Hirokazu Ando for Kirby's Adventure, serving as the boss battle theme of Nightmare's wizard form.
Game appearances
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Kirby's Adventure marks the theme's debut, being used in Nightmare's wizard phase. A faithful remake or this theme also appears in its respectful remake. This theme can be found as the 14th theme in the sound test in the original game (0E in hexadecimal) , and as the 24th theme in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.
Kirby: Canvas Curse
A remix of "Final Boss" titled "Spectacle Space" plays in the eponymous stage. Additionally, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement plays during the fight with Drawcia Soul when the Old School option is on.
Kirby: Planet Robobot
The "Spectacle Space" remix from Kirby: Canvas Curse plays in Access Ark - Stage 7 EX of Kirby: Planet Robobot. It can be found as track 129 in the Jukebox and as track 49 on Disc 1 of the Kirby: Planet Robobot Original Soundtrack.
Kirby Star Allies
Starting from version 4.0.0 of Kirby Star Allies, a techno remix of "Final Boss", named ナイトメアーズバトル (Nightmare's Battle) on Kirby Star Allies: The Original Soundtrack, plays on the Morpho Knight battles if player 1 is Bandana Waddle Dee, King Dedede, or Meta Knight. This version is arranged by Jun Ishikawa and can be found as track 174 in the Jukebox.
Super Kirby Clash
Four different arrangements of "Final Boss" plays in Parallel Nightmare's different phases.
- The first arrangement plays on his first encounter at the Ruins and is very faithful to the original. It was arranged by Kiyoshi Hazemoto.[1]
- The second arrangement plays during his encounters at the Empyrean.
- The third arrangement plays prior to starting the "Toughest: The Final Battle" Story Quest.
- The fourth and final arrangement plays when fighting Parallel Nightmare's Revenge.
Kirby's Dream Buffet
The first arrangement from Super Kirby Clash, named "Super Kirby Clash: Bonus Song 3" in-game, can be unlocked as a bonus track for races and Free Rolling if the player has save data from Super Kirby Clash on their Switch and completes their first Gourmet Grand Prix.
Other appearances
The theme was performed live at the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival as part of the "Kirby Finale Battle Fest" medley, along with "Vs. Marx", "0² Battle", "C-R-O-W-N-E-D", "Fatal Blooms in Moonlight", and "Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection". Only the intro section was arranged.
